10:30 woke up. Had to cancel plans to go to the Rastro as the crowds would have been overwhelming by this time and no one else was awake.
Had breakfast, then slowly the three of us got ready to go to the Pool in Caso de Campo Park. We walked...it was about a 30 walk up and down hill in the heat. It cost 4.80 €. The pool was very big and open but very cold. This was at first a very good thing but the longer we stayed the harder it got to stay in the water. We stayed from 1-3:30.
We walked home which was fine except that all of us were starving by the time we reached the apartment. Patricia had lunch all ready and waiting: Noodle soup then roasted chicken legs, roasted vegetables, and bread. We absolutely stuffed ourselves...it was delicious. A nice siesta followed this feast.
At 8:00 Alice and I went on a walk to find a book her one of her classes. She is in two upper level literature class. This month in one she is reading Don Quixote and in the other Los Oscuros(The Dark One's) by Luisge Martin. The latter was the purpose of our outing, but it was an unsuccessful trip in that we went to 3 different places and couldn't find it. One was closed, one simply didn't have it, and the last (a little place called La Buena Vida...The Good Life...which is near Opera station) informed us that it was no longer in print. While we were out and about we stopped in to look at a few stores and then went to the grocery store on Calle Mayor before finally heading home Showers, blogging, some news skimming...The Greece Referendum and Haitian-Dominican issues were the main topics looked over...studying and then to bed.
