Monday and Tuesday: July 6-7

MONDAY
Classes are going well...It's only the 3rd day so we will see.  In Culture with Ruben we are going over Cultural differences and practices here in Spain.  In the other it is more work with verbs and vocabulary and conversation.

In the evening, after homework and a siesta (it has been too hot to do much of anything out of doors in the late afternoon)  the three of us did some yoga on YouTube.  For dinner we decided on Cien Monteditos a restaurant chain that has these fantastic deals in the summer. It isn't fine dining by any means, rather a very Spanish fast food chain, that serves all of these different kinds of little sandwiches (100 different combinations).  On Sundays, Mondays, and Wednesdays they have different little specials.  For example, when we went you could get a glass of beer or tinto de verano (wine with soda in it) and a montidito of your choice for only 2€.   We three split an appetizer and then I got the special.  It was especially nice because it was just up from our house not even 5 minutes walking distance.

TUESDAY
Not too much to report from the morning, just really more of the same. I am learning though and I feel that I am right on level which is especially comforting this second month.  I have progressed tremendously...We all have.

Later in the evening Amanda, Alice and I went to Retiro Park and rented bikes.  It was really lovely speeding through the very well maintained paths.  We came upon some places in the park I hadn't seen yet.  Alice had a little trouble getting the hang of her bike as they were a little more sensitive, but otherwise we had a good time. It also felt really nice because you got a nice bit of air flowing into your face as you rode which relieved the heat.
After our hour was up we went back to our neighborhood and over to a little Mexican restaurant just across the plaza from us where we feasted on nachos and for me a cheesy quesadilla.  It was great because it was food that we all had been missing: Alice's boyfriend is Mexican, Amanda wants to work in a Mexican restaurant, and I have the Sunday Mexican tradition...We had a very good time

.
A rose garden which really isn't as nice as ours in Huntington, excepting a very beautiful fountain that I couldn't get a picture of because of the sun)

I believe this is called, The garden of memory
