Friday, June 26th...Goodbyes

 Slept in which was wonderful!
Got a dolled up for the big fiesta and then had to rush to the school because surprise, surprise we were running late.  I was becoming very concerned about whether we'd make it on time to catch the bus when I saw Maria Carmen riding the escalator behind us...She has great influence, they would not leave without her.  We all walked together...Maria Carmen, Amanda, Alice, another girl from Hunter named Cindy, and myself.

We made it in plenty of time and had a nice long bus ride out to the main campus outside of Madrid.

We at Marshall were informed that we would be "graduating" 1st, which stressed Tanner out a little because he was the very 1st student to walk up to the little podium to receive his certificate.  In reality it was really easy and quite nice.  Maria Carmen and two other professors from the states spoke and then 3 students read essays they had written about the Nebrija experience.  Once that was all done we were released to take pictures and grab a plate of the decent Paella and salad provided by the program for a picnic of sorts on the lawn.  It was quite hot but also a great way to finalize the relationships we had all developed as a group and among other classmates.

At 3 we departed for home.  And that was that...goodbye to June...Hello Barcelona!

The ceremony under this enormous tent:
(Amanda walking up to get her certificate)

(All the professors)

(My professors are these two on the end...Esther then Marta going outside in)

(A small image of the main campus.  The only reason the program does not send us here is because it is about an 1 outside of the city)

(Roomies)

(Las chicas de Marshall, including the adopted group member Rhiannon next to me who is from New Mexico but goes to school in L.A.)

(Rhiannon, Megan, and Sierra. Only Megan remains for July)

(Kyle, Sierra, and Tanner.  Tanner and Kyle both headed to other parts of Europe together before departing for home.)

...Later that evening after all goodbyes were said and done:

Packed for Barcelona
Cleaned our rooms, the kitchen and bathroom.
Talked to Mom...Felt rather homesick and tired.
Ate a small dinner...Patricia had been out of town again this week painting and had left us with enough food for the entire time, we finished off the last bit of soup this evening
Left to meet Megan at the Apple store in Sol.
Transferred over to the Speed Train Station at the Atocha Station.
Boarded train at 9:20...TO BARCELONA!!!

Arrived in Barcelona around 12/12:30 am.
Took a taxi to our hostel.
Checked in and got blankets and lockers organized.
Went to sleep!
